Eligibility and Enrollment

If you are a mandatory fee-paying student enrolled for six (6) or more state supported on campus credits* at The University of Montana-Missoula, you are eligible for the student health Insurance plan. Information on premiums costs, coverage dates, and plan information can be found on the STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN section of the insurance site.

*Students in Distance Learning programs are not eligible for the student insurance plan and must refuse.

Students taking 1-5 credits may petition to enroll into the student health insurance plan. Please, contact the Student Insurance Advocate to see if you may qualify.

During the registration process, you will be required to make an insurance selection. It’s at this time that you may opt to enroll into the student insurance plan.

PLEASE READ ALL SCREENS CAREFULLY. THERE IS A STATE REQUIREMENT FOR MEDICAID CLIENTS THAT MAY PERTAIN TO YOU.

*IMPORTANT*

Changes to the initial insurance selection to enroll into the plan cannot be made on Cyberbear. You must contact the Student Insurance Advocate BEFORE the 15th class by following the process to waive the insurance. Please see the REFUSE STUDENT INSURANCE section of the insurance site for details.
