Well-Being Support Coordinators

Master Level Social Work students who are working in partnership with UM Wellness and Leadership to provide prevention support for well-being related issues for students.

Please note these services are provided by health coaches.  These coaches’ function in a non-clinical capacity and they are not licensed mental health providers.

What services do we provide?

  • 1:1 well-being support for students in person or via zoom
  • Training and support for faculty/staff on ways to support student well-being
  • Assist students in accessing resources on and off campus

What is an appropriate referral?

  • Support in coping with stress, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed
  • Sleep and Sleep hygiene
  • Time Management and Procrastination
  • Movement and Nutrition
  • Assistance with finding the right resource for support

Health Coaching

Health Coaching consists of informal, confidential meetings with a professional Health Coach. Health Coaching is designed to help students improve their overall health and academic success.  Health Coaching meetings are supported by the health coach and self-directed by the client areas of desired improvement like stress, sleep, exercise, nutrition, and more.

Learning how to live a balanced, lower stress lifestyle will help you succeed at UM academically and interpersonally. Health Coaches help you gain academic success whether it's managing time, assignments, or personal relationships. Being well enables students to focus on what matters and less on distractions. 

Health Coaching is FREE and students can have up to 12 sessions in the academic year.

Wellness Wall

The Wellness Wall is located outside of the Wellness office in the Curry Health Center. The Wellness Wall is home to the Condom Corner & Safe Sex Supplies, Stress Busting Kits and more.

 

All of the Wellness Wall supplies are free to UM Students

Nicotine Quit Kits

University of Montana has a Tobacco Free Campus and Curry Health Center Wellness offers FREE Nicotine Quit Kits to support UM students who wish to quit vaping or e-cigarettes, smoking or smokeless tobacco (chew).

Each quit kit recipient also receives a brief cessation session to help personalize the kit to individual needs and create a quit plan to break your unwanted habits.

The Relaxation Station

The Relaxation Station is a free service to students where you can book a 15–45-minute relaxation getaway from all the ‘get up and go’. When you book the relaxation station you can request to have the room set-up for you in any of the following ways: 

  • Meditation (mat, blanket and/or pillow included) 
  • Progressive breathing and other breath techniques 
  • Relaxing stretching (mat and blanket included) 
  • Lead yoga 
  • Relaxing music  
  • “Happy light” (sun lamp) 
  • Aromatherapy  
  • Coloring sheets 
  • Digital Detox room 

Please note that after each room use, everything is thoroughly sanitized. 


This service is offered Tuesday and Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Thursday: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in Curry Health Center room 111 in the Wellness Office.
