September 23	FINAL cancellation process occuring for Autumn Semester 2009

Registration, adding classes, dropping classes, withdrawing from the University of Montana

April 8	College of Technology registration begins according to alphabetical schedule on www.umt.edu/cyberbear
April 13	Registration begins for all other students according to alphabetical schedule on www.umt.edu/cyberbear
April 25 - September 21	Open registration continues except during orientation sessions, June 10-15, June 24-29, and July 8-13
August 28	Last day to receive a total refund (except non-refundable registration fee) when withdrawing from all courses for Autmn 2009. Obtain withdrawal forms from Griz Central Registration Counter.
September 21 (4:30 p.m.)	Last day to register for classes, add classes, change credit in variable credit courses, change grade options or drop classes on CyberBear with a partial refund. Last day to submit an Override form for adds. Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses) with a partial refund. Last day to change grading option to AUDIT.
September 22 - November 2 (4:30 p.m.)	Classes may be added and dropped; or grade options changed (except Audit) with a drop/add form. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. Fees will not be refunded for courses dropped, and a grade of W will appear on your transcript. Graduate credit may be deleted by notifying Graduate School.
November 3 - December 11 (4:30 p.m.)	Classes may be added or dropped or grade options changed only by petition. $10 charge for each drop and each add, if approved. A WP or WF will appear on your transcript for courses dropped after November 3rd. No drops or grade options changes allowed after December 11.
December 4 (4:30 p.m.)	Last day to withdraw from the University (drop all courses). After this day, must petition to withdraw.
December 11	No petitions to drop classes or change grade options allowed after this date for Autumn Semester 2009.

Fee payment, finalizing registration with Financial Aid, Scholarships, Third-party payments

July 27	Registration bills available at 1:00 p.m. on www.umt.edu/cyberbear for payment and finalizing.
August 21	Last day to pay or finalize registration bill by 4:30 p.m. in person or midnight August 23 via Cyberbear to avoid cancellation of classes on August 24th.
August 25 - September 21	Fee payment and finalization resume for late registering students.
September 4	Last day to pay fees or finalize registration without a $40 late fee. If registering August 25 - September 4, pay by 4:30 p.m. in Griz Central or by midnight September 7 via CyberBear.
September 8	$40 late begins for remaining late registered students not paid or finalized by September 7, midnight.
September 22	Last day to pay fees or finalize registration with a $40 late fee. Pay in Griz Central by 4:30 or by midnight via Cyberbear, otherwise registration will be cancelled.

Health Service and Blue Cross

September 21 (4:30 p.m.)

Last day to waive or elect health insurance coverage or add clinical health fee. (Distance students are not eligible for The University of Montana Student Health Insurance)

Deferred Payment

April 8	First day to apply for Deferred Payment Plan on Cyberbear, at the Business Services counter in Griz Central, or the Business Counter at the College of Technology. A $30 administration fee is charged. (Note: The 1st deferred payment plan payment must be paid at the time the registration bill is finalized. See “Fee Payment & Finalizing Registration” deadline dates above.)
October 6	Second deferred payment due date.
November 6	Third deferred payment due date.

Financial Aid Appeal

September 16 (4:30 p.m.)

Last day to submit an appeal for Autumn Semester 2009 financial aid at Financial Aid counter in Griz Central

Instruction and Holidays

August 31	Classes begin for Autumn Semester 2009
September 7	Labor Day Holiday, no classes held
November 11	Venterns Day Holiday, no classes held
Novemeber 25-27	Thanksgiving Holiday, no classes held
December 11	Last day of classes for Autumn Semester 2009
December 14-18	Finals week for Autumn Semester 2009

Housing and Meal Plans

August 22	Official housing day in residence halls. Arrivals before this date must be arranged with extra daily rate.
September 4	Last day to make meal plan changes for Autumn Semester 2009. Upgrades allowed all semester.

Graduation and Commencement

Ocotber 5	Department approved undergraduate degree applications for graduation at the end of Spring 2010 due with $25 application fee in Griz Central at Cashier Counter . Applications due in departments 3-14 days in advance.
May 15	Commencement Ceremony 2010
