Soph is the team captain for the women's squad. This is her second year on the team. Mostly, she just likes to ride her bike. It's not unusual for her to go on two or three rides a day. In the off season she spends her time self-contained touring around Montana. Soph specializes in longer races and team time trials. She also does lots of the artwork for the team. Soph will be an intricate part to the team going to nationals.
Josh is an amazing cyclist and overall nice guy. One minute he's chatting casually about his soda collection and the next he's hammering in the criterium. We are so lucky to have Josh. Last year he was the only Grizzly to make it to nationals buy placing second in our conference. He is also a bike ambassador for Missoula. When he's not racing for the Griz Josh is racing as a cat 1 in USCF races. Phil hammers. He is our resident team unity manager. I've never seen someone pick up the sport as quick as Phil did. Right off the bat he was placing top ten consistently in every event. When he's not racing for the Griz, Phil is racing for the Seattle based Broadmark Capitol as a cat 3. He's a huge key in our bid for nationals. Also, did I mention hil is crazy. Shaun is the team's vice president. He has grown up riding his bike. Currently he works for the dventure Cycling Association. Shaun is also the vice president of Missoulians on Bicycles. We are hoping for big things from Shaun. His specialty is long climbs and having fun on bike. Toby Toby hails from Hood River, OR. He’s experience in all aspects of racing. In his first ever race (the Hood River Stage Race), he took first. We’re super lucky to have him on the squad this year. Toby will be a great addition to our A team and our bid for nationals. In his spare time he studies geology and skis. Look out for Toby in local cross, and road races. Nylene Wicks Nylene does everything. On any particular day you would find her on the river, up in the Rattlesnake, or even down at the Noxon Reservior. This will be her second season on the team. Last year she made an impressive debut jumping right in to ther first race ever and placing 5th. Nylene is a good overall rider, and were lucky to have her back. We're hoping Ny can be the secret weapon on our ladies team.
