ELI Classes

ELI Class

At the English Language Institute (ELI), students are in class for 20 hours a week. There are 5 levels of instruction, from beginning to advanced. Students' classes include speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, cross cultural issues, integrated skills, and TOEFL preparation. The goal of all the classes is to ultimately prepare students for university level studies.

The ELI also offers a Bridge Program which gives students an opportunity to register for one University of Montana credit-bearing course (at the 100 level) while they are enrolled in the ELI.

ELI classes meet for 20 hours per week. Classes are usually scheduled between 9:10 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon, Monday through Friday. This schedule is subject to change.

  • Fall Semester: late August to mid December (16-week semester)
  • Spring Semester: mid January to early May (16-week semester)
  • Summer Semester: late May to late July (10-week semester)
