this section if you wish to apply for Montana NSF EPSCoR co-funding
for a scientific conference.
Awards of up
to $5,000 will be made to assist departments and investigators to
develop and host scientific conferences on MUS campuses. The goal
is to bring international scientists and their research to the Montana
campuses providing our faculty, staff and student researchers more
exposure. Support of student registration to these conferences is
a priority budget item for the EPSCoR program.
- NSF EPSCoR
co-funding for scientific conferences is available in all science
areas, however funding priority will be awarded to conferences
supporting the new focus areas of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics,
Neuroscience, and undergraduate-based research efforts.
- The conferences
for community and statewide impact are handled exclusively by
the UM NSF EPSCoR Office and funded internally.
- NSF EPSCoR
co-funding for conferences may not be used to pay for entertainment,
alcohol, conference room charges or other items prohibited by
institutional, state or NSF guidelines.
- Conference
funding should be matched with at least a 2:1 (NSF : Match) using
departmental, university, state, corporate or other outside assistance.
- Recipients
of EPSCoR funds must complete a final report outlining the successes
of the conference. The report should include 3 to 5 photographs
taken during the conference activities and any conference materials
(e.g., program, handouts), available.
- Conferences
must be held at The University of Montana or UM affiliated establishment.
