Debating Science Workshops

Debating Science Workshops

As part of the Debating Science Program, the Program on Ethics and Public Affairs' organized two summer workshops in 2007 and 2008. Over 60 graduate students from leading universities in the United States participated in 5-day workshops held at The University of Montana. At the workshops students were treated to presentations by leading scientists, philosophers, journalists and other experts on science debates in the areas of climate change, nanotechnology and agricultural biotechnology. The students also studied ethical deliberation and learned how to use the ODC. Most importantly, the students spent time discussing these issues with each other, the instructors and invited experts. This was an important time for building relationships that supported the online deliberations. Below are links to additional information about the workshops.
