Featured Panelist: George Dennison, UM President

The Center for Ethics is pleased to announce a panel discussing ethics education and the ethical aspects of UM's mission. The event will feature several panelists, including UM President George Dennison and new Journalism Dean Peggy Kuhr, as well as Philosophy Department Chair Richard Walton, Associate Professor Liz Putnam from biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, and ASUM Senator Ali Tabibnejad.

Sherman Book Discussion Postponed

Professor David Sherman, Philosophy Department, UM

Professor David Sherman's roundtable book discussion, "Political Agency in the Postmodern Age," has been postponed. Sherman's book, Sarte and Adorno: The Dialectics of Subjectivity, has been highly sucessful—so successful that the hardcover edition has sold out at the UM Bookstore!

The evening event, which was originally scheduled for November 14 at 7 pm, will be held after the beginning of Spring Semester 2008, timed to coincide with the release of the paperback edition.       More information coming soon!

New Environmental Emphasis in the UM Philosophy Masters program. Students may earn an M.A. in Philosophy with an emphasis in Environmental Philosophy as preparation for doctoral work in philosophy or for work in such related fields as environmental law, policy, or community activism.
