Trademarks and Licensing:

The Trademarks and Licensing Program is administered by the Office of the Executive Vice President.  This program ensures that there is a consistent and positive image of UM displayed both internally and externally.  UM protects their marks by registering them at both the state and federal level, so the use of all marks must first be approved by the Director of Trademarks and Licensing and the Executive Vice President.  To manage these marks, The University of Montana works with The Collegiate Licensing Company.
