Chair Szalda-Petree received an
additional letter of support for the communicative disorders proposal from the
Montana Speech-Language & Hearing Association with 168 signatures. He passed this around for members to review.

The summary of humanities curriculum proposals
was presented by Professor Eglin. Items
on the summary were approved with the exception of the following:

Several of the new courses approved have a new rubric (ENFM) for the Film
Studies Option in English. It was
suggested that if the Option is not approved these courses would default to
ENLT. Also, a comment was made that

The Social Sciences and Ethics Subcommittee
presentations were postponed to next week.
Unfinished Business:

The committee briefly discussed the numerous
concerns with the proposed Certificate in Global and Multicultural
Competence. In consideration for time
constraints, Chair Szalda-Petree requested the subcommittee chairs send the
concerns of their subcommittees to him and he would compile them and
communicate them, rather than invite the author to
·
The Education and Fine Arts Subcommittee met to
discuss the Communicative Disorders proposal and voted 3 to 2 in favor. Professor Luckowski will be prepared at the
next meeting with the concerns and comments of the subcommittee.
The Forestry and Biomedical Science Subcommittee had mostly practical / space /
issue concerns in relation to the courses offered by the
This is also the case for the psychology course listed.
Chair Szalda-Petree requested that members take a look at the full proposal and
separate their concerns from curricular standard issues and funding. A half hour will be set aside next week for
discussion and guest will be invited to the meeting on 11/28.
