The chair welcomed first time attendees and there were renewed introductions
all around.
No public comment.
Ausland
outlined in brief anew the committee's charge and anticipated schedule,
including some topics for committee consideration put forward by the dean. (document 1)
Greer offered a presentation on the first of these topics, viz. a proposal to
feature dissertations online,
outlining various options how to do this. Greer and D'Andraia answered
several questions arising during the presentation.
After the presentation, a general discussion commenced of the several merits
and disadvantages of the idea as well as of its several possible
executions. (Notes) The discussion
was still underway as time began running out.
No reports of ongoing projects.
No action on old business.
No introduction of new business. Rosenleaf ascertained that this did not
preclude the committee's continuing the unfinished discussion.
Comments included principally further reflections on the topic of the
presentation.
