Please describe your experience on the committee (What information would you share with a faculty member who is considering service on this committee?)
I have served as Chair for three years. The committee reviews FDC grant applications in the areas of faculty development, mini-sabbaticals and visiting scholars. The committee calls for proposals in the fall and spring and reviews each application for potential funding.
Topics Addressed (agenda items)¯
Review of approximately 40 proposals/semester. Rewriting of proposal application format to facilitate review. Proposal requirements are now clearly defined and should result in better applications and fair reviews.
Actions Taken (resolutions, proposals, recommendations)¯
The application procedure and requirements have been rewritten and instituted this spring. Reviews will begin in mid April, 2008.
