Registering for FIGs is a slightly different process than registering for normal classes. Students will not be able to enroll in a FIG through the CyberBEAR registration process. Instead, after meeting with their advisors, they come to the First-Year Interest Group desk on Friday at 1:00 where they register in person for the FIG of their choice. Students who enroll in a FIG are simultaneously enrolled in all courses in the FIG. (Once students register for a FIG, they must remain in all of the FIG courses; they may not drop any of the FIG courses without dropping out of the entire FIG.) Then students use CyberBEAR to complete their schedule with an additional class or two recommended by their advisors. Like all classes at The University of Montana, FIGs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
It is very important before you arrive to register for your FIG on Friday that you either sign up for or waive your health insurance on CyberBEAR, and to have your 790 number (Griz Card Number) and advising number ready.
