Flathead Lake Boat Rides during the 2006 Biological Station Open House

The public is invited to the annual Flathead Lake Bio Station's Open House on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

This is an excellent opportunity to mingle with students, professors, visiting researchers and staff during nature walks, on boat trip demonstrations on the research vessel Jessie B and while browsing research project displays.

The Biological Station is located on the East Shore of Flathead Lake (Highway 35), 17.5 miles north of Polson or 14 miles south of Bigfork.  The entrance is well-marked -- look for the Yellow Bay State Park sign; the FLBS entrance is immediately north of the state park.

FLBS is delighted to host the 2006 Meeting of the Organization of Biological Field Stations. FLBS offers a chance for a fun and productive meeting on the shores of Flathead Lake, to see old friends and make new ones, talk science and station management, and, of course, get into the spirit of this year's meeting theme: Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery for the annual auction.

Several pre-meeting field trips in and around Glacier National Park have also been planned.

For more information, please see our 2006 OBFS Annual Meeting information site at http://flbs.umt.edu/obfs.
