About Deana

Deana started working at the Biological Station on April Fool’s day, 2008.  Worried that this might be some nerdy prank, she decided to show up on her first day anyway and has been loving it ever since.  She works with satellite imagery around the Pacific Rim and Western Montana, assessing river habitat and morphology.  Deana loves water, especially in its crystalline and flowing forms.  Her primary research interest involves employing GIS technology and computer models to explore questions related to riverine habitat and changes in water quality and availability over time.  Outside of the office, Deana has a passion for cooking, flip-flops, avocados and all things involving snow play.
