First-year Interest Groups (FIGs)

First-year Interest Groups (FIGs) have certain common characteristics:

  • an enrollment limit of 25 students;
  • a FIG seminar taught by a senior or faculty member;
  • a faculty mentor;
  • a cluster of courses that count toward General Education Requirements.
  • When you enroll in a FIG, you are enrolled in all the courses in that FIG. You will receive a First-year Interest Group booklet at the orientation you attend.
