Thesis project:

I will be doing petrographic analysis of the metamorphic rocks from the northeast border zone of the Idaho-Bitterroot metamorphic core complex to date the timing of peak metamorphosis.   I will be mapping a twenty-five square mile area at 1:24,000 scale to provide a better picture of the regional geology.   In addition to the mapping, I will be collecting samples of garnet and sillimanite bearing rocks to obtain age dates which will enable me to constrain the timing of peak metamorphism.
