Speaker Nomination

Submit nominations for AY 2013-14 speakers by May 31, 2013. Please send nomination forms to Jeanne Loftus (Jeanne.loftus@umontana.edu), Coordinator for the GLI. The nominations will be reviewed in June and nominators will be contacted by mid-July.

During their second year at UM, students enrolled in the Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) will be given the opportunity to meet with leaders from across many fields in small group settings (i.e., up to 20 students, 1 hour). These leaders will engage students in discussions about specific themes or leadership values (see complete lists below) in relation to their own professional experiences.

Many departments and programs are inviting guest speakers to campus and we would like to suggest that they consider whether any of the speakers that they have already invited, or would like to invite, would be effective in working with a small group of GLI sophomores as described above. If so, we ask that you nominate one or more of those individuals, providing the following information:

Name of potential presenter
Short description of presenter's background and current position
Suggested theme and/or leadership values
Potential dates for a visit to UM
Any connections to UM (e.g., former student, born in Montana)

The GLI Task Force will review these nominations and select up to 20 for inclusion in the sophomore series. If your nominee is selected, we may be able to offset some of the travel and lodging costs of your speaker using private funds donated to the GLI.
