Statement of Commitment to Diversity

The Global Engagement Office works strategically to identify, address, and remove barriers and provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students regardless of their background or identities. Our staff actively engages with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and prioritizes the continuous development of our knowledge and cultural competence.

In order to benefit from our campus’ diversity, we must embrace the opportunity to learn from each other. Our commitment to diversity means treating all members of the UM community with dignity and embracing cross-cultural interactions even when they create discomfort.
