Your Acceptance Package

Congratulations! You have been accepted to ELI and have started the adventure of a lifetime!

Now that you are accepted you will be emailed your Acceptance Package information. You will also be mailed your Acceptance Package through FedEx, one week after your acceptance. Your Acceptance Package will contain very important information including:

Acceptance Package

This letter states that you have been accepted to the ELI program. You will need this letter to apply for your F-1 student visa and also to enter the country. The letter also contains your 790 student ID, needed to apply for students housing.

The Pre-Departure and Arrival Information Brochure will tell you all of the important things you need to do before coming to ELI. Another useful resource is the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Study Guide to the States.

ELI offers airport pickups for new students the weekend before ELI orientation starts. If you would like to be picked up at the Missoula airport (MSO), please fill out the Arrival Information form with your arrival information and send it back to ELI at least two weeks before you plan to arrive. All international students must have certain immunizations to study at UM. Take the Medical Requirement form to your doctor and ask him or her to fill it out with your immunization history. During orientation, you will be taken to the student health clinic on campus to receive any missing immunizations. Please fill out the Medical Requirement Form before you arrive to the U.S. and submit this form to the Curry Health Center

Learn about the University of Montana student health insurance or how to refuse UM insurance. 

To live on campus, please complete the online housing application as soon as possible. Housing is first come first serve and if you apply late you may not receive housing assignment. For more information about housing costs, housing pictures, and descriptions, visit Residence Life.

 Please apply for summer housing here. 

Familiarize yourself with the UM campus  before you arrive. Look for the International Center and University Center for your first day of orientation! 

This is the most important document in your acceptance packet. Make sure you name, date of birth, and program start date is correct. You will use this I-20 to apply for an F-1 student visa and to enter the country.


The SEVIS Payment and Information Sheet will give you al the information you need on how to pay your SEVIS fee and apply for an F-1 student visa. 

Buy a plane ticket and fill out the Arrival Information Form  if you would like to be picked up from the airport the weekend before ELI starts.
