Admission Semester(s) and Application Deadline(s):
- Summer - Complete application packet postmarked by February 1
- Fall - Complete application packet postmarked by February 1
Assistantship(s):
- Check with the program for availability and deadlines for applying
Test Requirements:
- GRE scores not more than 5 years old unless applicant has a master's degree or
higher from UM
- The TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB are also required of international applicants
- All official test scores must be sent to the UM Graduate School
The following "Additional Application Materials" must be mailed directly to the department (address below):
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (We prefer electronic submission through the Admission Application. If electronic method is used there is no need to send paper copies to the department.)
- Current resume
- A letter of intent. This letter should explain your interest in pursuing a graduate degree and career in counseling, your experience in human services and/or teaching, and your understanding of the field. It is also important in your letter of intent to demonstrate your writing quality and professional presentation
