Accounts and Passwords


You log into most UM computer systems with your NetID: your first initial, last initial and six numbers (e.g. ab123456).  The initial password for your NetID is the last six digits of your 790 ID number.  You can find your NetID under the personal information section in CyberBear. 


CyberBear is a web self-service system where you can access your student records, register for classes, make payments, and more.  Log into CyberBear using your NetID (see your admission letter) as a user name.  Your initial password is the last six digits of your 790# number.  You are required to change your PIN and set a security question the first time you log into CyberBear:  More detailed information about the log in process can be found at:

Online Tools displays services and student links


UMConnect is a suite of Microsoft-hosted Office 365 services.  It is the official email for all University of Montana students.  Students activate their UMConnect accounts at using their NetID and password.  

UM Online Moodle

Courses that are offered online and traditional courses tha have online supplements use Moodle's learning managment system. You can log into Moodle at: or via ONEstop.

Ask Monte is a searchable on-line knowledge base that provides answers to commonly asked technology and other questions.
