Panhellenic Council (PHC)

The Panhellenic Council (PHC) is the governing body of the recognized women’s fraternities and sororities at The University of Montana. PHC consists of two representatives from each chapter who fill the eight officer positions. These officers are appointed or elected into one-year terms that run from January to December.

PHC’s responsibilities include: representing Greek women’s interests to the rest of the Greek community and to The University, coordinating recruitment and other all-sorority or all-Greek events, providing opportunities for leadership to Greek women, initiating positive public relations projects for sororities, and planning social and community service events for Greek women.

Holding a position on the Panhellenic Council provides members with hands-on leadership, budgeting, and event planning experience. You will improve your interpersonal communication and time management skills, and gain confidence in yourself as a leader.

When you become an active member of your sorority, consider representing your chapter on the Panhellenic Council. The rewards of being a leader in our sorority community are tremendous!

We, as Undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.

We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
