Ecologically Infused Curriculum.


The Green Thread workshop will take place Tuesday, May 19th, through Thursday, May 21st.  The attendees were selected through an application process, and after completing the workshop will be expected to incorporate green thread teachings into their course work.

Tuesday, May 19

6:30-9:00 pm      Catered informal dinner at Lisa Swallow's house

                                Please bring your beverage of choice.


Wednesday, May 20

Arrive by 8:30 am at the Gallagher Business Building, 3dr floor, in the Executive Board Room 

Bring with you:

The assigned readings and be prepared to discus them

Comfortable walking shoes

Writing materials, suitable for taking notes outdoors

8:30-9:00              Coffee and tea

9:00-9:30              Workshop Overview and Introductions

9:30-10:30           Sustainability: What's the big idea?

10:30-10:45         Break

10:45-11:30         Two-legged exercise: Find a special place on campus

11:30-12:00         Small group discussion and report

12:00-12:30         Presentation by Laval Means, Office of Planning & Grants: Neighborhood plans

12:30-1:15           Lunch

1:15-2:30              Field trip led by Josh Gubits:  An introduction to the Missoula watershed

2:30-2:45              Break

2:45-4:15              Integrating sustainability within your core academic area

4:15-4:45              What we learned today: Reflection and synthesis
