KBGA College Radio Hosts Birthday Bash September 24

KBGA College Radio 89.9 FM at The University of Montana will celebrate 14 years on air with a Birthday Bash on Friday, Sept. 24, at the Palace and the Badlander in downtown Missoula.

Admission to the Birthday Bash is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Pre-sale tickets are available for purchase at the KBGA office in University Center Room 208. Doors to the Badlander and the Palace open at 9 p.m. The event is open to those ages 18 and older.

This year’s annual event features artists from San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Ore., Bozeman and Missoula.

The musician Rafter hails from San Diego and recently released his third full-length album. The electronic duo Rainbow Arabia from Los Angeles brings a Middle Eastern-inspired sound to the stage. The Ah Holly Fam’ly from Portland features cello, violin, clarinet and saxophone.

Montana bands playing the event are Pterodactyl Plains, the female vocalists who recently returned from their first European tour; local Missoula musicians Wartime Blues; and The Salamanders of Bozeman, a four-piece garage country band formed in 2006.
