Residence Hall Cancellation
The application is accompanied by $225.00. The $25.00 is a non-refundable processing fee and the $200.00 is considered a prepayment on housing. If a room reservation is canceled for Fall Semester, the following refund policy applies.

If a reservation for Residence Halls is cancelled after the cancellation deadline, there will be a $200.00 cancellation fee assessed. If a resident has been properly released and moves out mid-term, there will be a $200.00 cancellation fee plus the daily prorated amount for each day until the official checkout is completed. If you apply after the cancellation deadline and then cancel, there will be no refund. If a resident is not properly released, there will be no refund for the semester housing charges.
Cancellations must be made directly with the UM Housing Office. Changing or cancelling enrollment with Admissions does not cancel with UM Housing or UM Dining. Cancellations not received prior to the official semester move-in date will result in a daily-prorated amount charged for holding the space through the date UM Housing receives cancellation notice or the semester audit is completed.
How to Cancel Housing
To cancel your housing, submit the Housing Cancellation Form. You will need to log in using your NetID and password in order to complete the form. All cancellations must be made by the student and not a parent.
Refunds on Prepayment
Refunds are applied to the student's CyberBear account and will go towards any owing balance. If the refund is greater than the balance owing, the remainder will be refunded to the student through the University of Montana refund process.
