Regardless of which Residence Hall you are placed in, consider participating in a one-credit C&I 194: First-Year Seminar course with other students living in your Residence Hall. Students choosing this option will be enrolled in a one-credit seminar course with other students living in their building so they are taking a class and building a cohort with other people they live with. Participation in seminar courses such as this one is connected to a greater likelihood of graduating. You will learn about campus life and resources, develop key academic skills, and have a smooth transition to college, all while making stronger connections with other first-year students living around you.
Programs & Events
Much of the programs and events associated with this option will be tied to the C&I 194: First-Year Seminar course students are enrolled in. UM Housing staff will provide complimentary transitional, educational, and social programming.
Students can choose this option regardless of where they want to live, as they will be pre-enrolled into a seminar course with other students in the building they are placed in.
