Clinic coordination (e.g. establishing affiliations, business management, scheduling, equipment, recruiting, monitoring supervision, site coordinator, clinical service), and clinical instruction/supervision of student clinicians are expected. All areas of expertise will be considered, however, experience in augmentative and alternative communication is preferred.
Position has contact with clients to provide speech, language, and literacy services, management of clinic personnel and coordination with the Chair, the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders CSD for academic and clinical education issues.
1. Management of clinic operations (30%)
- Direct clinic development funding and maintain the clinic budget
- Assist in public relations for clinic
- Complete monthly and annual reports
- Complete weekly accounting and documentation reporting
- Maintain functioning work space
- Schedule clients
- Be responsible for patient billing and fee schedules
2. Student clinical practicum/CSD clinic and Missoula, rural and remote sites (20%)
- Provide student scheduling for clinical placements in Missoula and CSD clinic.
- Communicate with other Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists and agencies to coordinate student clinical placements in rural and remote sites.
- Provide short-course to clinicians (Missoula, rural and remote) regarding supervision training
- Assign students to clinical practicum providing a balanced experience in various speech-language disorders.
- Track student practicum hours for ASHA requirements.
3. Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for the clinic (20%)
- Conduct evaluations in the area of speech-language pathology
- Develop intervention plans for clinic clients
- Complete necessary written reports and documentation
- Provide speech/language therapy for clients
- Provide family training on therapy interventions
- Prepare necessary materials
- Document client progress
- Communicate with other agencies for referrals, coordination of services, and sharing appropriate client information
4. Collaborate with academic faculty (10%)
- Participate in scheduling and planning with Communicative Sciences and Disorders personnel at The University of Montana
- Attend department meetings as necessary
5. Course instruction (20%)
- Teach selected undergraduate/graduate courses

Master's degree or doctoral degree in Speech and Language Pathology or related field.
Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
Montana Licensure in Speech and Language Pathology or the ability to obtain Montana Licensure
Experience in diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders with a specialty area.
Experience in management of a clinic (university setting or private practice)

Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet, database software (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) with the ability to learn new software
Knowledge and experience using, maintaining and troubleshooting standard office equipment: copiers, printers, fax machine, and multi-line phone system
Ability to work on projects independently and complete routine tasks without prompting

Experience working with adults and children with different types of speech, language, and hearing needs
Augmentative Communication qualifications
Previous experience with course instruction desired.
