The Department of Pharmacy Practice invites applications from creative, progressive pharmacists for a tenure-track faculty position dedicated to the development and coordination of advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPE) in community pharmacy practice.
The primary focus of the position will be to facilitate and coordinate the development and incorporation of pharmaceutical care activities in community advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) sites participating in the experiential component of the professional pharmacy program. The person also will teach topics relevant to community pharmacy practice in the curriculum.
Teach undergraduate students in the professional pharmacy program in classroom, small group, and APPE settings.
Facilitate the development and incorporation of patient care activities in community pharmacy practice sites in Montana that participate in the APPE program
Serve as a role model for comprehensive, effective medication management for patients.
Perform scholarly activity required for promotion and advancement.
Participate in service activities in the Department, including the provision of continuing education to the pharmacists and other healthcare practitioners in Montana.
Serve as the school's liaison to Montana's community pharmacy practitioners.

Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree.
Significant practice experience in community pharmacy.
Eligibility for Montana licensure as a pharmacist.
Ability to initiate and independently work on projects related to community pharmacy practice and the APPE program.
Residency in community pharmacy practice or a related area is desirable.
Demonstrable skills necessary to teach and serve as a role model for students in classroom, small group, and practice settings.
Ability to effectively interact with other healthcare professionals.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice offers didactic courses and clinical practice experiences for students in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. The didactic courses emphasize an advanced understanding of clinical pharmacotherapy, while the practice experiences assist in further developing a student's therapeutic knowledge within a "real-world" progressive practice environment.
