Primary Functions

The University of Montana School of Law invites applications for a two-year Legal Writing Fellowship. The Legal Writing Fellowship provides an opportunity for a new teacher to develop pedagogical skills and scholarship in a supportive academic environment.

  • The successful candidate will work with the Director of the Legal Writing Program to teach the two, required, first-year legal writing courses.
  • May assist in the other components of the Law School's legal writing program, including the appellate advocacy course and advanced writing requirement.
  • The Legal Writing Fellow will be encouraged to take part in the full range of faculty activities.
  • The law faculty is committed to providing a supportive environment encouraging development as a teacher and scholar.

    Applicants should submit a cover letter specifically addressing how their experience qualifies them to teach as a Fellow in the Legal Writing Program. Applicants should also include an official law school transcript; a current resume; and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three references.
