Provides administrative support for the Financial Aid Loan Manager who administers/disburses all forms of financial assistance
Informs students and parents about policies and procedures involving financial aid programs, as well as monitoring, editing and performing
data entry relevant to all loan activity
Communicates with Montana Guaranteed Student Loan Program, as well as other guarantors and lenders verifying borrower’s eligibility and
all other information pertaining to loans
Assists in releasing or returning loan proceeds in precise detail
Performs public relations duties in communicating with students, outside agencies, government offices, and campus staff in person, writing, on
the telephone, and electronic correspondence
Assists with reception and data entry tasks as needed

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and two (2) year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, grammar, composition, with the ability to
proofread and edit materials
Effective public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a
diverse groups of individuals (within the department, University, and general public)
Demonstrated knowledge of or the ability to learn The University of Montana, state, and Federal policies and procedures
Proven ability to share and explain complex information with others
Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to accurately complete tasks and meet deadlines in a
busy environment
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and act with initiative
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret written and verbal information
Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers, related word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Office Suite), internet and e-
mail with the ability to learn specialized software programs
Proven ability to use standard office equipment: copiers, fax machine, 10-key adding machines, typewriters and multi-line phone
system
Demonstrated ability to provide positive, professional customer service and function effectively as a team member in a fast-paced environment

Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality; accurate files and records

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Banner database software
