Position responsible to coordinate a number of events for UM (Including but not limited to: Homecoming, Alumni Association
Reunions, the Community Lecture Series, and others as assigned)
Position plans all related events, secures venue location, orders supplies (food, equipment, set-up), organizes schedules, creates
event agendas, programs, marketing and promotional tools; researches and evaluates event options; maintains accurate records
and files; creates related reports

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and two (2) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation with the ability to
prepare and edit related documents and reports
Effective public relations, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain positive
relationships and work with a diverse group of individuals
Ability to create and distribute marketing/promotional materials
Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software (MS
Office), internet and e-mail with the ability to learn new software programs
Ability to collect and maintain accurate information
Ability to plan, organize, and execute meetings and events
Ability to use standard office equipment: copiers, fax machine, and multi-line phone system
Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle conflicts in a timely and professional manner
Ability to remain organized and on schedule while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Demonstrated problem solving skills; ability to act with initiative

Demonstrated event and/or conference planning experience; alumni relations work experience
Demonstrated knowledge of The University of Montana-Missoula; demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Banner
database software
Two or more years of experience enrolled in an institute of higher education
