Position serves as the office manager for the Department of Philosophy and the Liberal Studies Program (Duties include but are not limited to:
word processing; clerical and reception duties; provides technical troubleshooting support for office equipment)
Position provides administrative support to the Chair and Director and Department & Program faculty as well as to the department’s
programs; provides budget management; updates and maintains the department’s and program’s website; creates publications for events;
supervises the student support staff
Position coordinates work with that of the Academic Advisor for the Liberal Studies Program

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures: business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation and composition with
the ability to edit materials
Ability to develop and coordinate distribution of departmental announcements and publications
Demonstrated knowledge of or ability to learn and utilize elementary HTML code and scripting; ability to learn and utilize specialized
programs ( ftp program)
Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data; prepare reports
Demonstrated knowledge of or the ability to learn The University of Montana and department policies and procedures
Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to complete tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a busy environment with attention to detail
Demonstrated public relations, interpersonal, and oral communication skills, including ability to work with diverse group of individuals and to
establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions
Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet, database software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new software
Knowledge and experience using, maintaining and troubleshooting standard office equipment: copiers, fax machine, and multi-line phone system
Ability to work on projects independently and complete routine tasks without prompting
Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Banner software
Demonstrated knowledge of The University of Montana policies and procedures
Bachelor's degree in a humanities field such as Philosophy, Liberal studies, and/or History
