Primary Functions

  • Position oversees the daily operations of the center (Duties include but are not limited to: administrative support, budget management, database management, collecing, organizing, and documenting accurate program information, document preparation (honoraria and contracts), ensuring compliance with The University of Montana policies and proceudres and federal grant requirements; coordinating travel arrangement and processing payments)
  • Provides event/conference management (Plans and oversees various events and/or conferences on-site and/or via videoconferencing locations; creates and updates informational and promotional materials (brochures, curriculum modules, forms and marketing tools); may travel in-state on an occasional basis to meet departmental needs
  • Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High School graduation and two (2) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, grammar, and composition
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of personal computers and a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, with the ability to learn new software. An MS Word and Excel exercise will be given at the time of interview
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute events and meetings; plan and make travel arrangements
  • Ability to create, proofread, and edit materials with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to analyze and interpret written, verbal and financial information with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on projects independently with attention to detail, and take initiative to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to research, develop and organize information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of or the ability to learn The University of Montana policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated public relations, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and create and maintain effective working relationships
  • Skill in organizing and managing financial accounts, budgets, payroll, disbursements, grant reports, financial filing systems and databases
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to handle multiple and complex tasks
  • Ability to problem solve while maintaining a professional, personable demeanor
  • Ability to set priorities, and make sound decisions exercising judgment, tact and sensitivity
  • Ability to use standard office equipment: copiers, fax machine, 10-key adding machines, and multi-line phone systems
  • Must be able to travel in-state on an occasional basis
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Banner Finance software
