Under minimal supervision, performs professional custodial cleaning of RLO facilities which includes dormitories on campus and student apartment housing
Provides clean, safe, and healthy housing for students, guests, faculty, staff, and visitors; interacts with staff, students, guests, and faculty working, residing or living within RLO facilities
Performs skilled manual labor such as sweeps, mops, and vacuums; cleans and disinfects lavatories and showers; cleans ceilings, walls, windows and furniture; operates safely all forms of professional custodial equipment, chemicals, and supplies; cleans interior/exterior glass, replaces light bulbs and washes light fixtures, and performs minor repair work; removes trash and garbage from buildings
May act as Lead Worker
May be required to perform in a supervisory capacity for special assignments or seasonal, temporary employees

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and one (1) year of full-time related work experience, or a combination of experience and education
|
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Knowledge of custodial methods and up-to-date cleaning equipment and techniques used for scrubbing, disinfecting, mopping, dusting, polishing, and related tasks
Knowledge and experience in or ability to learn the proper use and maintenance of equipment and application of pesticides
Ability to act as a lead worker; coordinate work schedules; effectively direct and evaluate the work of others
Demonstrated skill in operating cleaning equipment including buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, shampooers, wet/dry vacuums and hand tools
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships
Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain a safe work environment
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Structural and Institutional Applicator License for extermination spraying of insects

Custodial work experience in a college dormitory, institutional living facility, apartment maintenance and/or hotel/motel
|
Qualified candidates must be able to meet minimum requirements and perform the primary functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to perform constant physical activity related to cleaning duties; move equipment, furniture and supplies weighing up to 50# on a regular basis and up to 80# on an occasional basis; perform duties requiring push/pull activity with equipment weighing up to 50# on a frequent basis and up to 200# on an occasional basis; possess hand and finger coordination; perform duties with repetitive motion of wrist, arm and shoulder; be able to reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel
Must be able to work with chemicals, dust, fumes, and odors associated with cleaning environment and use of cleaning equipment chemicals and supplies
