Duties may include, but not limited to: handing of instuments and materials to dentist, taking dental radiographs, mixing and placing some
materials--including impressions, pouring models, aiding patient instruction and education
Responsible for set-up, clean-up, and disinfection of work area, and sterilization and disinfection of dental instuments
Position helps perform basic duties of reception/patient flow work, and also help with some basic clerical work, when needed

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and a minimum of two (2) years experience assisting in four-handed dentistry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
|
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Demonstrated knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and materials
Working knowledge of dental office procedures including ability to take dental radiographs (x-rays); ability to take dental impressions;
knowledge of dental disease process
Working knowledge of sterilization procedures, materials, and equipment
Familiarity with computerized patient scheduling system and record keeping; ability to learn new specialized software
Basic familiarity with standard office practices and procedures, and phone etiquette; business English, spelling, grammar and composition; basic
math skills; ability to use multi-line telephone
Proven customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, including ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of
individuals
Ability to deal with multi-layered tasks in a quick, efficient manner
Ability to use protective equipment, such as glasses, masks, gloves, scrubs, and lab coats to perform job duties

Certification for dental radiology
|
Qualified candidates must be able to meet minimum requirements and perform the primary functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work with disinfectants, developer, fixer, bleach and non-toxic dental materials; be exposed to blood, pathogens, aerosols, high-pitched
sounds; see and work in small, confined areas
Ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to hold and pass instruments steadily without dropping; performing frequent, repeated flexion and
extension motions
