Provides administrative support to the Director and serves as an active member of management teams; coordinates administrative activity of
senior management team; communicates on behalf of Director to various individuals; coordinates the development of and maintains
department’s administrative policies and management practices/procedures; ensures compliance with the University’s policies and procedures;
gathers information and prepares various reports, correspondence, and documents; plans and coordinates various events and activities; reviews
department’s website for accuracy; provides daily administrative support for department when necessary

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
High school graduation and three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Knowledge of or the ability to learn The University of Montana polices, procedures, and organizational structure
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide customer service, communicate, and establish and
maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of individuals
Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures: business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and composition with
the ability to draft and edit various documents
Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and distill information into a publication suitable for its intended audience
Demonstrated organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills, while paying attention to detail
Demonstrated experience in the operation of personal computers and a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new software
Ability to plan and schedule meetings, events, and activities
Ability to operate standard office equipment including copier, fax, multi-line telephone, computer, and printer on a frequent basis
Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
Ability to attain ServSafe certification within one year of employment
Ability to maintain confidentiality, problem solve, and make sound decisions
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Montana Driver’s license
