Position is responsible for the personnel and room management for the IT computer labs: maintains computer equipment; hires, supervises, trains
and assigns tasks to approximately 30 student employees
Provides technical training to the campus on Access and other programs; writes documentation and educational materials
Provides technical support, troubleshooting and consulting to campus departments
Provides system administrative duties for RightNow, UM’s question and answer database
Works on special projects as assigned

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
Bachelors Degree in Information Systems and four (4) years of related computer experience, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
|
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Ability to design course materials, give effective training sessions and present computing concepts on a variety of topics to individuals and small
and large groups
Demonstrated knowledge of, experience utilizing, and experience training others to use MS Office Access
Demonstrated experience working with the following: Windows 2000 & XP; Microsoft Office Suite; Web browsers (Safari, Internet Explorer);
authoring tools (HTML); Internet tools (telnet, ftp); System security and account creation tools
Experience in Networking hardware and software and system administration software, tools and procedures
Demonstrated ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide effective solutions
Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information in understanding terms to
groups of diverse end users
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills while providing attention to detail in work performed
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information and exercise sound judgment
Ability to work independently
Ability to create project plans and to follow the plan to completion
Ability to maintain technical currency in a constantly changing technical environment
Ability to work evenings, weekends or holidays on an occasional basis in order to meet deadlines and/or restore critical systems

Knowledge of Macintosh operating system
|
