In today's world, universities must be globally engaged and prepare students to become citizens of a multicultural and interconnected community. Institutions achieve this by having a comprehensive strategy to guide skills, knowledge, and attitudes towards internationalization.
The University of Montana has been selected as one of thirteen institutions invited to join the 2014-2016 American Council on Education's (ACE) Internationalization Laboratory Cohort. The ACE Laboratory is an invitational learning community that provides an opportunity for universities to identify strengths and weaknesses with current programs and policies, gauge interest in international engagement, accelerate progress on internationalization and ultimately enhance the cross-cultural learning environment.
The Internationalization Laboratory (iLab) will build upon UM's Strategic Plan, Building a University for the Global Century, and will help identify an articulated set of goals, and a strategy to integrate various internationally and globally focused programs or activities on campus.
