The English Language Institute (ELI) serves non-native speakers of English who wish to improve their English language and academic skills in order to pursue personal, professional and academic goals at the University of Montana (UM) or another institution of higher learning.
Nine international graduate students just completed 50 hours of training in teaching and intercultural communication skills in the first International Teaching Assistant Certificate Program taught by the English Language Institute.
"At ELI, I can meet lots of students from all over the world. Some students come from Asia and others come from Europe and South America. I have a great chance to learn about so many cultures." - Yuka Hattori, ELI student from Japan
