Information for International Exchange Students

Thank you for your interest in participating in an exchange opportunity with the University of Montana. UM values the many partnerships we have with institutions abroad and the mutual benefits received from student, faculty and staff exchanges.

The University of Montana has over 50 partner universities abroad with active student exchange programs. UM is also a member of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP), which is a nonprofit member organization of 290 member institutions in 42 countries.

Use this page as a starting point to explore studying at UM for a semester or full year as a non-degree seeking student. All exchange students must first be nominated to UM's International Programs by their home institution in order to be considered for admission as an exchange student. If their home institution is a UM Partner University, students first apply directly to their home institution; if their home institution is a member of ISEP, students apply first to their ISEP Coordinator at their home institution. Students cannot apply directly to UM to be an exchange student.
