Klaus Uhlenbruck

Klaus Uhlenbruck (Ph.D. University of Colorado, 1996) joined the Management and Marketing department at UM in 2004. His research focus is on international strategy. He has published for academic and practitioner audiences on the topics of privatization of state-owned enterprises, the development of subsidiaries of multinational enterprises in emerging economies, and how firms behave in the face of government corruption. Current research projects include the international expansion of U.S. law firms, firms' strategies entering foreign countries with high levels of corruption, and the executive perception of corruption as an informal institution in India. Klaus consults with companies engaged in international expansion, largely focusing on firms involved in privatization and U.S. companies engaged in acquisitions in Europe.
