International Programs
The symposium is intended to bring together scientists from Montana and Japan working in various scientific fields, and to introduce interested faculty to possibilities for joint research and collaboration both on regional and international levels. Along with discussion of current research in the rapidly growing field of nano-technology and its possible applications in biology, pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering and physics, other scientific areas (not directly related to nano-science) are also going to be presented in the talks and poster contributions.
The symposium will consist of two parts. The first part will take place on the evening of Wednesday, September 29, 2004. Professor Toru Maekawa, Director of the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Center at Toyo University will present a one-hour lecture on the formation and milestones of the Center. This talk will be a public presentation accessible to a wide audience and held in a large auditorium on The University of Montana campus.
The second part will take place on Thursday, September 30, 2004. It will consist of a series of ten 30-minute presentations from Toyo and The University of Montana, as well as from regional participants. A poster session will follow.
The symposium will be held in the University Center (3rd floor) at The University of Montana, Missoula Campus.
Registration is free. To register for the symposium, complete the registration form at the web site:
