Indigenous Community Development Exchange Program
UM students have a new opportunity to participate in an exchange program starting Spring 2010 between The University of Montana and 2 Canadian and 2 Mexican universities (see links below). The program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students for one semester or a full academic year. Students majoring in any field are eligible to apply, but they need to be committed to taking courses in indigenous cultures.
This program strengthens the North American community through special efforts to include indigenous students and community populations. It addresses significant higher education challenges in the U.S., Canada and Mexico to broaden academic experience, and an appreciation of neighboring cultures through student exchanges and people-to-people experiences.
