UM Scholarships and Grants

Partner Exchange and ISEP Scholarships

Students are automatically considered for the following scholarships once the scholarship application has been completed as part of the Partner Exchange or ISEP application.

  • Missoula Rotary - $500 to a student participating in an IP study abroad program
  • Scott Ferrell Lewis Scholarship - $500 scholarship for students in any IP study abroad program
  • ISEP - Scholarships available for students participating in an ISEP program
  • Charles Sturt University -AUD$5000 scholarships for US students studying at this university

Partner University Exchange in Japan

  • Yoshiko Komai - $2900 scholarship for a student attending Toyo University (Japan) through UM's Partner University Program
  • JASSO - A scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education covering travel and living expenses for a student participating in an IP Japan study abroad program
  • Monbukagakusho - A scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education covering travel and living expenses for a student attending Kumamoto or Sophia University (Japan) through UM's Partner University Program

  • NSEP(Undergraduate Students): If you are applying for the Broen Scholarship, please submit by 1/23/2012 your online application and the following hard copy materials to International Programs in International Center: 2-3 references, official transcripts from all universities or colleges attended, one page study abroad program description for organized study abroad programs OR two letters of support for direct enrollment/individually arranged study (one from the home and host institution), language self-assessment, and language proficiency form (optional). A time will be set up for your application's campus review between 1/24-1/27/2012.
  • NSEP (Graduate Students): If you are applying for the Boren Fellowship at the graduate level, there is no campus review and your online application is due by January 31, 2012 including hard copy supplementary materials which need to be mailed to Institute of International Education.
  • Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Forty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year.
