IT Staff Ambassadors
The IT Staff Ambassadors program was launched in 2011 with the goal of establishing a more integrated group of staff members. In 2012, the program was expanded to include members from distributed IT. The program is patterned on the University Staff Ambassadors (USA) program.
- To give members of the Information Technology staff the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with other staff members.
- To give IT staff members the opportunity to understand and be more involved in the current workings of the Information Technology sector.
- To identify possible future leaders within the Information Technology team.
Any full time Central IT staff member who has the consent of their immediate supervisor, or any full time distributed IT staff member are eligible to participate.
How to apply
Central IT staff members need prior approval from their immediate supervisor and then send email to Karen Hunt. Distributed IT staff members will also need to send email to Karen Hunt.The deadline for application is October 1.
The meeting are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m.-noon in October, November, January, February, March and April.
The first session includes a presentation by the CIO to welcome members and give an overview for the coming year. ACIOs and other managers from Central IT give 60- to 90-minute presentations on the sector of central IT they oversee.
Each three-hour session will include two or more presentations by IT managers or technical leads. Presenters share information about the services offered, staff in their department and future projects and plans.
