IT Central Student Technician

Compensation: $7.90/hour; 8-15 hours a week

Job Description:

Be part of a great team of help desk technicians to provide excellent assistance to the campus community for a variety of computer problems and questions. Includes assistance with e-mail accounts, providing troubleshooting for walk-in, phone and e-mail inquiries, as well as visiting sites to help with software and hardware problems, configuring campus wireless and email on various devices and installing/supporting Microsoft products and Antivirus. Please note: IT Central operating hours are 8 - 5 weekdays.

Qualifications:

Excellent customer service; ability to troubleshoot software and hardware problems; ability to install software and troubleshoot Windows XP, 7 and 8, Mac OS X; ability to learn new technologies and share that knowledge with your teammates; strong knowledge of anti-virus software and smart phone/mobile device applications.

Receptionist

Compensation: $7.90/hour; 10-15 hours a week; Must have work study

Job Description:

Be part of a great team at IT Central. We are looking for a student who will provide excellent customer service for University faculty, staff and students who need assistance at IT Central. Duties include: Greet customers, answer IT Central phone, fill in answering the University of Montana switchboard, handle cash and credit card transactions; verify customer identities against a database, assist customers with check in/check out of audio/visual equipment. Flexible scheduling to fit with your class schedule.

Qualifications:

Requirements include excellent customer service skills, phone skills, positive attitude, professionalism, good organizational skills and attention to detail, cash and credit card handling, and keyboarding. Preferred skills are experience with audio/visual equipment, ability to use computers for office applications and ability to learn new skills. *Must have Work Study*

Student Technology Assistant

Compensation: $8.40/hour (minimum); hours weekly vary depending on job placement

Job Description:

The UM Student Technology Assistants Program (STAP) is recruiting students for Spring 2015. STAP students are placed in campus departments to provide part-time information technology (IT) support to faculty and staff. Duties include but are not limited to: providing desktop computer support (PC and Macintosh positions available); computer hardware and software assistance; troubleshooting computer related problems; assist with multi-media classrooms (projector connections, printers, teleconference set up, etc.); web design and support, etc.
