Jerri Balsam
Administrative Associate, UM Broadcast Media Center
I guess you could say I have a split personality because I work two part-time jobs here at The University of Montana. My days are spent at Montana Public Radio and Television where I work with a large group of very creative and gifted program producers. I spend my evenings at the Writing Center on campus where I work primarily with international students. Teaching is both my profession and my passion - I thoroughly enjoy working with our international student community.Lanell Curry
Administrative Associate, UM Communication Studies
I do anything and everything I can to assist the faculty and students in the Department of Communication Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences and The University of Montana. I love my job and the people I get to work with every day. I'm about to be a Gramma for the first time and I can hardly wait! Right now there are four generations living in our home - including our 8-year old great-nephew Wyatt who keeps us very busy and whom we love very much! And two Siamese kittens in the garage whom my husband has yet to meet (go hunting for a week and all kinds of surprises may await your return)!Jeanne Franz
Administrative Associate, UM Wildlife Biology
We have a degree program in Wildlife Biology with about 53 graduate students and 360 undergraduate students. Advising is a large part of my job as well as many other things; as we all do. I love working with the students and seeing how most of them mature over their time in college.Stacia Graham
Administrative Associate, UM Economics
I love working on campus because in spite of the image of the dusty and hallowed halls of academia it is full of the vibrancy of youth and the excitement of learning. I do, however, often cling to the wisdom of despair.com. My favorite: Madness does not always howl. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying “Hey, is there room in your head for one more?”Terri Gray
Administrative Associate, UM Music
Native Montanan. Love my job, coworkers, Director and faculty. Best job I have ever had, but I have never worked so hard to keep up with students and faculty.Rayleen Hicks
Administrative Associate, UM MT Virtual Academy
Montana Digital Academy is Montana's state legislated K-12 online school. I keep our department running smoothly and provide the first point of contact for MTDA with students, parents, school administrators, education partners and legislators across the state. We have currently developed our program to serve High School through Middle School and will eventually have a full spectrum of K-12 online course offerings. I was MTDA's first employee and have enjoyed being part of a team that has built this program from the ground up and continues to develop as we deliver our courses to students across the state in what has been a very successful endeavor.Karen Hurd
Administrative Associate, UM Environmental Studies
Yes, we do still have that drawer of VHS software training tapes from the 90’s. But TAG sure is better.
Becky Maier
Administrative Associate, UM Foreign Student Services
Becky is the Office Manager in her department. She enjoys riding her Paso Fino, doing genealogy and reading.
Mary Opitz
Program Coordinator for Outreach, UM College of Technology
I provide COT and BCP Hamilton students with Moodle support and log in access to all UM student resources. Being a non-traditional student myself I like helping other non-traditional students overcome their fears. I assist International students of Hispanic language, and sometimes when I forget to switch back to English when talking to others, their puzzled looks tell me, I did it again!

My family and I recently move back to the beautiful state of Montana from Alaska, and I am excited to be back on campus after having been away for over a decade. It's great to be "home" again!Jennifer Zellmer-Cuaresma

As an athletic academic advisor, I enjoy working with student-athletes as they strive to achieve their academic goals. Their individual personalities are interesting and uplifting and I appreciate the chance to work with them.
