Electrical work to affect IT services: UPDATE
Work on electrical equipment in the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences buildings on Saturday, March 31 will result in service disruptions to campus computing systems.
NOTE: Originally UM telephone and voice mail services were scheduled to be impacted by this activity. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the telephone and voice mail service outage has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Computing systems outage
Computing systems, including Banner, employee email and all services that use the NetID for authentication (Moodle, CyberBear, UMConnect, et. al) will be unavailable beginning at 7 a.m. on March 31. The outage is expected to last 5-6 hours. The purpose of this outage is for facilities personnel to perform work on the electrical transformer located in the Liberal Arts building, which houses one of the central IT server rooms.
March 31 is the first day of spring break. The date was selected for the electrical work to minimize impact on campus operations.
