Identity management upgrade set for August 5
Dear Campus Community-
In order to provide you with the most secure technology experience, it is critical that we make upgrades to the systems that we use to manage and protect your identity. To this end, we will be making an upgrade to the system that houses the security questions and answers that you occasionally may use to reset your password, etc.
A result of this upgrade is that you will need to choose a new security question and answer. Beginning Monday, August 5th at 9:30 AM, the first time you login to things like Cyberbear, Moodle, and other NetID protected resources, you will be prompted to choose one of five new security questions and provide an answer to that question you can remember. This change will NOT affect systems that use alternate means for authentication or identity management. Access to employee email will not change.
Because this upgrade is to a central and highly used system, some disruption of service may occur. If you experience difficulties with access to services or experience a problem with setting your new security question and answer, please contact IT Central, 406-243-HELP (4357), immediately. They will be staffed and prepared to assist you.
